Our light-duty wheel balancers have recently been redesigned to improve ease of use and long-term reliability. As part of this update, these models no longer include an external cone spring. Instead, the spring mechanism is now built directly into the hub of the machine.
Why the External Cone Spring Is No Longer Included
The previous external spring design has been replaced with an internal, fully integrated spring system. This new setup:
Reduces the number of loose, removable parts
Decreases wear on the spring over time
Simplifies the mounting process
Improves consistency and repeatability during wheel balancing
Nothing has been removed in a way that affects performance — the spring function has simply been relocated inside the machine where it belongs.
How the New Mounting System Works
With the spring action now inside the hub:
You can forward-mount the wheel onto the spindle just like before
You can reverse-mount the wheel when needed
The spindle operation and clamping process remain familiar and straightforward
The machine still centers and secures the wheel properly — the spring is just internal instead of visible
Customers can continue using the balancer exactly as they always have, with no change to normal operating procedures.
Benefits of the New Internal Spring Design
Cleaner, more streamlined setup
Less chance of losing or misplacing parts
Reduced maintenance needs
Longer service life of the spring mechanism
Faster wheel changes for regular shop use
This redesign is part of our ongoing effort to improve reliability, simplify operation, and deliver equipment that performs better over time.
