When setting up a new wheel balancer, proper orientation of the keypad pin-plug wiring is essential for correct operation. If the keypad is unresponsive or the buttons do not function as expected, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
1. Keypad Is Installed, but None of the Buttons Respond
Inspect the cables
Your wheel balancer uses a cable that connects the screen directly to the keypad. Check both cables thoroughly for:
Fraying
Cuts
Loose connections
Any visible damage
Verify the correct cable orientation
The white screen cable with the red stripe should have a 16-hole connector (2 rows of 8 holes).
Reinstall the keypad pin plug
If the cable is undamaged, unplug the keypad pin connector and reinstall it into the other set of 8 holes on the 16-hole adapter.
Important: The keypad will only function when plugged into the correct set of 8 holes.
2. Keypad Buttons Work, but the Functions Are Incorrect
If the buttons respond but activate the wrong functions:
Unplug the keypad pin plug from the screen cable.
Rotate the pin plug 180 degrees.
Reinsert it into the same correct set of 8 holes.
Flipping the connector corrects the keypad orientation and resolves mismatched button functions.
