How to Update the Database on a Katool Alignment Machine

(Applies to AV9, AV6, AV651, and AV533F Models)

Keeping your Katool alignment machine up to date ensures accurate alignment specifications and proper system performance. This particular database update enables support for 2021 and newer vehicles, making it essential for servicing modern models.

What You’ll Need
   • The updated database file (provided by the Katool tech team) 
   • A computer (PC) 
   • The original USB drive that came with your alignment machine (do not use any other USB device)

Step 1: Prepare the USB Drive
   1. Insert the original USB drive into your computer. 
   2. Locate the updated database file on your computer. 
   3. Copy the file onto the USB drive. 
   4. When prompted, replace the existing file on the USB drive with the new one.

Step 2: Safely Eject the USB Drive
   1. After the file has finished copying, right-click the USB drive in File Explorer. 
   2. Click “Eject” to safely remove it. 
   3. Once confirmed, remove the USB drive from your computer.

Step 3: Install the Update on the Alignment Machine
   1. Insert the USB drive into the alignment machine. 
   2. On the machine’s screen, go to the Aligner tab. 
   3. Follow the prompts that appear: 
       ◦ Click through all the pop-up boxes. 
   4. Select “Install” to begin the update process.

Step 4: Complete the Update
   • Allow the system to fully install the update. 
   • Do not remove the USB drive or turn off the machine during installation. 
   • Once complete, the system will now support 2021 and newer vehicles.

   • Only use the USB drive that came with your alignment machine. 
   • Only use update files supplied by the Katool tech team. 
   • Avoid interrupting the update process to prevent errors or corruption.
